Spatial Assessment of Flood Vulnerability of Developed Properties in Port Harcourt Metropolis, Rivers State, Nigeria

The study assessed the flood vulnerability of developed properties (DP) in Port Harcourt Metropolis, Rivers State, Nigeria. made use DP data obtained from open street map, and combination landuse/ landcover map Landsat imagery 2020, soil texture data, elevation proximity to active river channel. Descriptive statistics were used for analysis. Findings showed that 44014 DPs estimated Metropolis. Results spatial extent lowly vulnerable areas Metropolis was 60.78 sq. km (13.22%), moderately 259.72 sq (56.51%) highly 139.14 (30.27%). Furthermore, 3977 (9.04%) flood, 34754 (78.96%) 5283 (12%) area. can be concluded number varied based on different levels as more them found within moderate levels. Based findings, recommended all lying high level should relocated better locations or at least conform ways guiding against effect properties; also periodic enlightenment public would help a lot preventing people constructing their house
